When asked why he thought he received the majority of 1.9 million votes, the heartthrob said:

"That's probably the hardest question tonight... I'm just a normal guy from the Northern Beaches and I think people like that.

"I'm an everyday sort of guy that you van have a beer with at the pub. That's me."
